Of course not! All your meals are on us. Get ready for some second (and third) helpings of high-quality kosher food.
  • What is a chaperone?
Each child is assigned a chaperone who is solely responsible for the child outside the hours of Shabbaton programming, making sure that the child is brought to the program and picked up every day. The chaperone can be either a parent, rabbi, rebbetzin, or another caring and responsible adult designated with the role of chaperone.
  • What will a parent or chaperone do during the Shabbaton?
Alongside the children's program, a parent’s program will also take place. Parents will hear from world-renowned speakers, enjoy delicious meals, and watch top-notch entertainment. Participants last year gave rave reviews. Some aspects of the parent’s program will also be intertwined with the kids’ program.
  • What will a Rabbi or Rebbetzin do during the Shabbaton?
Besides for being responsible for drop off and pick up every day, rabbis and rebbetzins are welcome to join the parent’s program.
  • What do I pack?
The New Jersey weather is set to be slightly chilly during Shabbaton, so make sure to pack sweaters, leggings, socks, and other warm essentials. Dressy Shabbat clothes are also a must! :) All JewQ champions are also asked to bring black skirts (girls) or pants (boys), to wear during the JewQ International Torah Championship.
  • How will hotel rooms be assigned?
Children attending Shabbaton together with a parent will be assigned to a room together. Children attending Shabbaton without a parent will be assigned to a room with other children under the supervision of CKids staff. Room requests can be made on the registration form. An extra room can be booked for an additional cost. We recommend that families with more than 5 people book 2 rooms.
  • What are the Covid-19 policies?
CKids Shabbaton will be following all CDC guidelines along with the specific guidelines of the State of New Jersey. To that effect, CKids Shabbaton requires proof of a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of arrival. You will be able to upload that into your Shabbaton portal to ensure smooth check-in.
